“I would not hesitate to recommend Chris as a tutor. His work has allowed my son to be successful at a subject that -up until now- has felt absolutely impossible. It has shown him that he CAN do Maths at a critical point in his education, offering him a window of opportunity and a level of success he would never have had without Chris’ excellent support. I cannot thank him enough”

‘Chris was recommended to us in a local support group and we are so glad we found him! He has been absolutely instrumental in helping our autistic son recover from a traumatic time at mainstream and rekindle a love of learning — even in subjects where he previously struggled. Chris is patient, thoughtful, flexible and accommodating, and has a deep and instinctive knowledge of the needs of autistic children, especially those who may have found traditional educational settings and approaches difficult. Our son is now working towards his GCSEs and I have no doubt that this would not have been possible without Chris's help. Thank you so much.’

‘Chris was recommended to us by a staff member at the Social Communication Resource and came highly recommended. Our son had not been in school for over 2 years due to autistic burnout and was wanting to engage with learning again, yet could not access the mainstream environment of school.

Chris has a deep understanding of autism and the unique learning styles that come with it. He creates a safe, supportive environment where our son feels comfortable to participate. Chris uses creative and engaging teaching methods that cater to his needs and learning preferences. For the first time in a long time, we saw our son not just tolerate learning, but actually become interested in it! The impact went far beyond academics. Chris has also helped to develop his communication skills and build his confidence and self esteem. Working with Chris has been a game changer for us and we can't recommend him highly enough.’

‘We’re very grateful to Chris for his help with our daughter. When he started working with her, she had been out of school for a couple of months, overwhelmed by the pressures of a mainstream school environment. He managed to engage with her and motivate her to work on maths and English, breaking through many of the barriers to learning. Chris understands her special interests and shares her enthusiasm, and is very supportive and encouraging.’

‘We sought the help of Chris in the hope that our son might be more successful in Maths with 1:1 support, outside of school. He has ASC, Dyslexia, multiple Sensory difficulties, is awaiting ADHD diagnosis and is three years behind in Maths. Having been unsuccessful at school for many years, he was absolutely convinced that he was ‘stupid’ and simply not able to do Maths. His self-esteem was very low and he refused to do any Maths homework with us. He was initially reluctant to sit down and try anything but Chris spent time getting to know him, gaining his trust and developing a positive relationship with him. Chris discovered what motivated and

developed an excellent understanding of his complex needs and the best approach to use. Although he wasn’t thrilled at the prospect of more Maths outside of school, our son responded well to Chris and enjoyed working with him. Chris’ use of humour and his ability to encourage him back to task when his attention had wandered helped him to focus and stay on track. By the end of his time with Chris, our son was able to remain in his seat for an hour and was managing upper key stage two Maths problems. This is nothing short of miraculous.

Chris is particularly well-placed to offer help to children who are neurodivergent and may be struggling in a mainstream school environment. He is an experienced and skilled teacher who understands the education system from the inside very well. He is also the parent of neurodivergent children and an Autistic person himself and is in a unique position to understand first-hand the challenges that mainstream school can pose to children with additional needs. These personal insights place him at a distinct advantage in his understanding of and approach to working with children and their families who might be struggling inside ‘the system’. We are in the process of applying for an EHCP for our son as he transitions to Senior School. Chris has offered us invaluable advice and insights, listening to and understanding our concerns, which has felt very validating during such a stressful time. It has been an enormous comfort to have such positive and proactive support at a time when we often felt powerless to know how to help our son.

I would not hesitate to recommend Chris as a tutor. His work has allowed my son to be successful at a subject that -up until now- has felt absolutely impossible. It has shown him that he CAN do Maths at a critical point in his education, offering him a window of opportunity and a level of success he would never have had without Chris’ excellent support. I cannot thank him enough.’

“I would definitely recommend Chris as a mentor and tutor. Chris formed an excellent relationship with my child and was very sensitive to their feelings and needs. My child had lost confidence in maths and school in general and Chris is a really positive presence. I'm thrilled at the progress that they are making.”

“My Daughter was recently and finally diagnosed as living with ASC. It has taken the knowledge of Chris's tutoring and mentoring to help recognise and support this period for my daughter. Chris is continuing to help her finds ways to understand herself, be kinder to herself and see what it can actually mean to live and learn, as a brilliant autistic girl with the support of someone who can understand, not judge and encourage.

She is able to ask Mr P questions that she would not ask me and is starting to believe in herself, see maths more positively and enjoy it... which is amazing.”

“I can't recommend Chris highly enough! Within the first 3 sessions, the progress my son made was amazing! He now writes confidently, and his spelling and handwriting have improved massively. The best of all is that for a child who was reluctant to do any writing and has struggled to find motivation with his English/Spelling, now he looks forward to it and is enjoying every session with Chris. He feels proud of his work and can see how much he is achieving through their work together which gives him confidence and joy. Chris is a great tutor - very friendly and warm, professional, and has a great approach with his students to make them feel relaxed, positive, and motivated.”
